Mellody Farm located in Vernon Hills, Illinois is a regional mixed use shopping destination. Torti Gallas + Partners worked with multiple developers to develop the concept for the residential multi family building and the design for the retail center. Anchored by Whole Foods, REI, and other anchor retail tenants, the shopping district also includes an array of small shops and cafes. Central to the shopping district is the public park - flanked by signature restaurants and a large outdoor fireplace. The design of Mellody Farm is inspired by adaptive reuse building in urban areas of Chicago like the West Loop and Wicker Park.
