Following our success at Mellody Farm in Vernon Hills, Illinois, Torti Gallas + Partners was hired to create an infill destination at the Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills - across the street from Mellody Farm. Building on this success, the “Hawthorn Row” district is a vibrant mixed-use infill project that replaces the Sears building and its associated parking fields. Our expertise in enclosed mall repositionings and neighborhood-making has become sought after on a national scale.
These 4-story mixed-use buildings are designed with placemaking in mind - with carefully curated public spaces and outdoor amenities. Rich with character and vitality, this new redevelopment creates a district and provides an important destination which complements the Hawthorn Mall.
